M&M Experiment - Learning to Design an Experiment

Students were able to learn more about scientific inquiry by designing their own M&M experiment.  Students first conducted the initial M&M experiment to help them learn to observe in a scientific way and create a hypothesis.  Based on their first experiment, they could then think of different manipulated variables for their next experiment.  Students were then asked to design the experiment by writing down their materials and the procedure used in conducting their experiment.  The students also learned how to collect data in a chart.  To see pictures of students working in the lab: click here.
